James While has worked for Planet Rugby for 15 years delivering all the news and analysis from around the global game, but with a particular focus on English and French rugby.
As a player (back row) he represented Headingley, Birmingham and Solihull, Walsall and Worcester at first team level before hanging his boots up to pursue a journalistic career. He is a contributor to The Times, The Cricketer and Rugby Journal in addition to his duties at Planet Rugby and also spent two years in Durban, South Africa, playing and coaching on an exchange scheme.
James is also an elite coach working with Birmingham Bulls RFC and with other teams and has delivered analysis work for a number of professional clubs in both the Premiership and TOP14.
He has a deeply rooted belief that forwards win matches on their own and backs are just there for decoration.
