Prem club double down on Argentina incomings as forward at ‘great stage’ of career signs deal

Harlequins sign Argentina tighthead prop Pedro Delgado.
Harlequins have added a second Argentina international to their squad in the last 24 hours after tighthead prop Pedro Delgado agreed to join ahead of the new season.
Delgado’s arrival at the Twickenham Stoop follows hot on the heels of his Pumas and Dogos XV teammate, Boris Wenger, who was snapped up by the club on Thursday.
The 27-year-old tighthead has cut his cloth in Super Rugby Americas and earned his opportunity to represent Argentina on five occasions to date at international level.
Starts v All Blacks
Last week, Delgado started for Los Pumas in their Rugby Championship opener against New Zealand in Córdoba and once again he has been named in the XV on Saturday.
The powerful tighthead prop began his career at Old Lions Rugby Club back in 2015, where he learnt his craft for eight campaigns prior to his switch to Dogos XV in 2023.
After making the jump to Super Rugby Americas in 2023, the following year, he made his Test debut as Los Pumas beat South Africa in his hometown, Santiago del Estero.

Delgado will link up with his new teammates following the conclusion of the Rugby Championship and is hugely excited to join the Prem club ahead of the 2025/26 season.
“I’m really proud to join Harlequins. This is a new chapter in my career and I’m looking forward to challenging myself in a new rugby environment in England,” he said.
“The club has a rich history and big ambitions and I want to give everything I can to help achieve them. I can’t wait to get to work with my new teammates and play in front of the supporters.”
Exciting addition
Head coach Danny Wilson added: “Pedro is a very exciting signing, adding to the arrival of his club and international teammate, Boris [Wenger].
“Pedro has gained international experience in the last couple of seasons, which is invaluable, and tighthead is a specialist position that we need to build depth and competition in.
“He’s at a great stage of his career and powerful operator at the set-piece and around the park. We’re looking forward to welcoming Pedro into the Quins family and seeing how he performs in the Quarters this season.”
