Lions-beating Test star makes Prem switch in ‘major boost’ to front-row options

Harlequins have announced the signing of highly rated Argentinian prop Boris Wenger ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Harlequins have signed Argentina international Boris Wenger ahead of the 2025/26 season, as they look to bolster their front-row following a disappointing 2024/25 campaign.
The 23-year-old loosehead prop moves from Dogos XV in Argentina, bringing dominant power and physical presence to the English outfit.
Wenger was named in the Super Rugby Americas 2024 Team of the Season, and recently appeared in Los Pumas’ impressive victory over the British & Irish Lions in June in an uncapped international fixture.
Rugby Championship to Prem
Wenger will link up with his new Harlequins teammates from October 6, following the conclusion of the 2025 Rugby Championship.
Speaking ahead of his arrival at Twickenham, Wenger said: “I’m looking forward to starting a new challenge and joining Harlequins,
“I have heard great things about the club and its supporters from Rodrigo! I’m excited to meet my new teammates and give my all for the club.”
Head coach, Danny Wilson, added: “Securing the signing of Boris is a major boost for us and our front-row options heading into the new season.
“He’s a powerful, technically gifted loosehead who brings a real physicality to the contact area and set-piece. We’re delighted to welcome him and confident he’ll make an impact here at Harlequins.”
Wenger will join former Exeter Chiefs and England prop Harry Williams at the Stoop this year, as Wyn Jones, Dillon Lewis and George Head all exit the club.
Quins are in a period of transition, as they shed 19 players from their squad at the end of the 2024/25 season, leaving the side short of depth and desperate for their current crop of players to stand up and be counted.
With just the six signings so far, the upcoming season could well be a challenging one.
