Social media has a field day after Roy Keane spotted in Ireland’s Rugby World Cup camp

Former Ireland and Manchester United footballer Roy Keane looks on.
Social media was thrown into a frenzy after Manchester United legend Roy Keane was seen at Ireland’s Rugby World Cup training camp earlier this week in Faro, Portugal.
Keane was renowned as a player for being a real hard man and a bold and proud leader on the pitch. After a short coaching stint following his retirement, the former Ireland football captain has grown in popularity as a pundit due to his hilariously brutal mindset towards football.
That being said, when the United man was spotted at Ireland’s camp, social media took over and ran with it brilliantly.
Some of the reactions were so apt, with one saying, “Why’s he celebrating hitting his man? That’s his job!” @IrishRugby @JohnnySexton”.

Another user had a similar play on the situation as Keane was pictured with Johnny Sexton, “Come off it Jonny, IT’S YOUR JOB”.
Both with reference to the priceless moment where Keane referred to a double save as a keeper’s job.
Just Roy Keane being Roy Keane…😂

Whilst some of the comments made reference to the controversial ban that Sexton is currently serving for berating referees after the Champions Cup final earlier this year.

There was another down the same train of thought, “Take the ban, Johnny, well done. I would have done the exact same thing,” Killian Byrne tweeted.
Meanwhile, Alan Stephens tweeted, “Three match ban? For agressive behaviour? Do me a favour.”
Last but not least was this nugget of gold as a user tweeted, ‘When you abuse officials, ya gotta be smart, get paid for it. That’s the key’.
Keane was not the only famous Irishman there as superstar artist Niall Horan and golfing great Padraig Harrington were also in attendance as the trio hoped to inspire the Irish efforts at the Rugby World Cup that begins in less than a month.
