Following England’s famous 33-19 victory over the All Blacks, here are the latest World Rugby rankings.

Note, this update does not include Wales’ clash with Japan, France v Fiji, Scotland v Argentina, or Ireland’s meeting with Australia on Sunday.

England move ahead of Ireland

George Ford produced a man-of-the-match performance, scoring 13 points including two drop goals as Steve Borthwick’s men beat New Zealand for the first time since 2019.

The result also saw England march to their 10th successive victory, which started with a 26-25 round two victory over France in the Six Nations earlier this year.

It has been rewarded with a move up the World Rugby rankings, moving up to third place, ahead of Ireland. This will remain the case regardless of the result in Dublin on Sunday, as Andy Farrell’s charges will not earn any rating points in victory over the Wallabies.

England earned 1.03 rating points by beating the All Blacks, giving them a 0.24 buffer over the Irish; however, it was not enough to usurp New Zealand in second. Despite losing 1.03 rating points in defence, the All Blacks remained second in the rankings, holding a 1.24 buffer over Borthwick’s side.

Having already dropped to fourth, Ireland could drop as low as fifth in the rankings if they are beaten by Australia and France beat Fiji.

Meanwhile, the Springboks earned no ranking points following their win over Italy in Turin. Rassie Erasmus’ men overcame another early red card to down the Azzurri 32-14. Italy did not lose any ranking points in defeat.

The Azzurri cling on to 10th position despite Georgia putting Canada to the sword in a 38-17 victory. They will retain that spot regardless of the result between Wales and Japan.

The World Rugby rankings officially update on Monday afternoon.
