Ireland latest: Garry Ringrose OUT of Nations Championship as injury crisis worsens
Ireland centre Garry Ringrose (right) looks set to miss the Nations Championship through injury
Ireland have suffered a critical injury blow on the eve of their November Nations Championship Tests, with centre Garry Ringrose expected to miss the campaign through a hamstring injury.
He is the latest injury concern head coach Andy Farrell has had to contend with in the build-up to their Tests against Argentina, Fiji and the Springboks, with the likes of Caelan Doris, Jack Boyle, Harry Byrne, Jack Conan, Jack Crowley, Iain Henderson, Paddy McCarthy, Calvin Nash and Bryn Ward also ruled out.
Ringrose did not feature for club side Leinster in their recent URC win over rivals Munster, but was not listed as unavailable in the week.
Ireland suffer fresh injury blows ahead of Nations Championship
“The Ireland squad have assembled at the IRFU High Performance Centre in Dublin ahead of the opening match of the Nations Championship Northern Hemisphere Series against Argentina at Aviva Stadium on Friday, 6 November (Kick-off 8.10pm),” an IRFU statement read.
“Garry Ringrose (hamstring) is unlikely to be involved in the forthcoming matches against Argentina, Fiji and South Africa in Dublin and will continue his rehabilitation with Leinster.”
Elsewhere, Jimmy O’Brien and Sam Prendergast are also nursing injury issues, but they remain with the squad.

“Jimmy O’Brien sustained a concussion at the weekend and will follow a graduated return with the aim of resuming full training later this week,” the statement from the IRFU continued.
“Sam Prendergast (wrist) is progressing and will also continue his rehabilitation this week in camp.”
At the time of writing, Farrell has not called up any injury replacements.
