Glasgow Warriors have suffered a critical injury blow just hours before their URC semi-final against the Bulls, with George Horne ruled out.

The Scotland international had been named in the initial starting XV for their clash with the Pretoria-based outfit at Murrayfield, but has failed a late fitness test. Jamie Dobie will now come into the side at scrum-half, with Jack Oliver moving onto the bench.

Horne’s absence is a significant blow to Franco Smith’s side ahead of their meeting with the Bulls, but it is just the sole change to the previously advertised 23-man squad. Josh McKay has been given the nod at full-back, with Kyle Steyn and Kyle Rowe named on the wings. Stafford McDowall and Sione Tuipulotu partner in midfield, with Dan Lancaster and the aforementioned Dobie in the halves.

Jack Dempsey, Rory Darge and Matt Fagerson form the back-row, with Alex Samuel and Scott Cummings the locks. Zander Fagerson, Gregor Hiddleston and Patrick Schickerling are named in the front-row.

Oliver also comes into the replacements list alongside Seb Stephen, Rory Sutherland, Sam Talakai, Jare Oguntibeju, Euan Ferrie, Sione Vailanu and Adam Hastings.
