Back-row Mitch Eadie agrees Bristol return

Northampton Saints Mitch Eadie is tackled by London Irish Adam Coleman and Matt Rogerson during the Gallagher Premiership match at Franklin's Gardens, Northampton.

Bristol Bears have announced the signing of back-row forward Mitch Eadie from Premiership rivals Northampton Saints, who rejoins on a two-year deal.

Eadie, 27, left Bristol to join the Saints in 2017 and has spent the last three seasons at Franklin’s Gardens, but he has agreed a West Country return next term where he will remain until at least 2022.

“We spoke on the phone when Mitch left after Bristol had been relegated in 2017,” Bristol director of rugby Pat Lam said.

“He wanted to play at the highest level and I understood his reasons at that stage.

“It didn’t work out as well as Mitch would have liked at Northampton due to injury and opportunities, but it was still a great experience for him and he will have learnt a huge amount.

“We are delighted to have him back, and we know he will add real value to our squad.”
