WRU in takeover talks with Cardiff Blues

The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) have revealed that they are negotiating the possible takeover of the Cardiff Blues.

According to an ITV report, the WRU said they are in 'the early stages' of talks to take over region.

The WRU also says that although a major decision has not yet been reached, all major parties will be informed when progress is made.

"We are currently engaged in the early stages of dialogue with the Cardiff Blues about the future of professional rugby in the region," a WRU spokesperson told ITV.

"As with any complex discussion of this nature, we would not discuss detail in the public domain until such a time as an agreement was reached and, indeed, only if agreement is reached.

"No further detail is available at the moment, but all relevant parties will be kept up to date as any progress is made."
