England have been dealt a setback ahead of their TikTok Women’s Six Nations decider with France after Sarah Hunter was ruled out injured.

The England skipper and number eight will miss the match, which also doubles as a clash for the Grand Slam with both sides winning their other games.

Hunter is struggling with a rib injury she suffered during their recent 69-0 triumph over Ireland and it has been confirmed she won’t feature on Saturday.

Set to be replaced by Poppy Cleall

The 36-year-old is expected to be replaced in the number eight position by Poppy Cleall, who was on the bench last weekend against Ireland in Leicester.

Hunter, who has earned 134 caps for her country, will still travel to France in order to help the squad with their preparations for the crucial showdown.

Both England and France have claimed bonus-point wins in all four of their matches thus far, making them the standout teams in the 2022 Six Nations.
