They're Smoooookin' !!!

Sona Taumalolo: Props aren't supposed to score five-pointers but the Chiefs loosehead is top of the Super Rugby try-scoring charts after bagging two more against the Cheetahs to take his total to six this season. Big up to the big man!

Brock James and Clermont: Les Jaunards' win over Stade Français last weekend extended their unbeaten streak at home to 41 games! The result not only moves them level with Toulouse at the top of the French standings, it also books their place in the semi-finals with three rounds still left to play. Once again their sharp-shooting Aussie fly-half was at the forefront of a dominant performance with a 100 per cent kicking display which included a neat drop-goal.

Stuart Hogg: It's not everyday someone scores a hat-trick against Munster. Too bad it wasn't enough to earn Glasgow victory at Musgrave Park.

Tom Taylor: So, his Royal Fly-Halfness Dan Carter still needs a few games to find his magic touch? No panic. Cue Mr. Taylor racking up 31 points to end the Stormers' winning run.

Toby Flood and Leicester: Aviva Premiership title contenders beware! If the scoreline at Franklin's Gardens last Saturday is anything to go by, Tigers are hitting form just in time for the play-offs. Flood scored 25 points – including two tries – to put a serious dent in Northampton's last-four ambitions. This weekend should be a cracker as Tigers visit Quins while Saints face a showdown in Exeter.

Newcastle: The Falcons are not dead yet. Two wins on the trot have left Gary Gold's troops just four points off Wasps and safety. Their last-day fixture at Adams Park could be the relegation decider.

England midweek games: We like old school. We like real rugby tours. Midweek games in South Africa in June = two thumbs up.

Leinster: 11 points clear at the top of the RaboDirect PRO12 standings with two rounds left to play, the Dubliners are guaranteed to finish the regular season top of the pile.

Olly Barkley's tackle on a transvestite pitch invader: Fancy going for a jog on the pitch…in a dress and a wig? Not a good idea if a certain Bath centre happens to be playing. Check out the YouTube clip.

Someone turn the heater up!

Edinburgh fans v Toulouse bench: This is not the kind of story we like to report on. Toulouse lock Yoann Maestri is set to return to Edinburgh for a court date after lashing out at a supporter who was taunting members of the visiting French team as they left the pitch at Murrayfield. The Heineken Cup organisers are investigating allegations that several supporters had hurled abuse at the Toulouse bench during their quarter-final clash. Toulouse manager Guy Novès says his team “felt threatened during the entire game” by fans sitting behind them but insists that nothing more than heated words were exchanged. The French champs say they learnt about the charges against Maestri in the press. Sounds like something from a soccer match.

Western Force: Bottom of Super Rugby's weakest conference, the team from Perth look set for another poor season. Richard Graham's impending defection to the Reds has led some bookies to offer decent odds on David Pocock and co. not winning another game this season. Ouch.

Blues (both Cardiff and Auckland versions): Obviously blue isn't the colour of the month. The boys in Cardiff were leading 12-6 at half-time only to implode in the last 20 minutes to lose 33-12 at home to the Ospreys – their fifth straight defeat in all competitions. Meanwhile, in New Zealand, Pat Lam's boys slumped to their sixth defeat of the 2012 Super Rugby season and their eighth consecutive loss to the Sharks. The Welsh region have announced they are looking for a new Director of Rugby. If this keeps up, the Aucklanders might do the same.

Gloucester: Four successive defeats in the Premiership proved too much for Bryan Redpath, whose resignation has left the players in Cherry and White stunned. Judging by the comments coming out of the Kingsholm offices, if Redpath plans on moving to Sale, he'd be best advised not to do so until the dust has settled.

Wasps: Despite the recent announcement of a handful of high-profile signatures, the High Wycombe outfit will be fighting for survival in the true sense of the word over the next fortnight. Defeat to Harlequins has left Wasps under serious threat of relegation. If things go wrong the prospect of finding the investors needed to save the club could disappear along with their top-flight status. Worrying times indeed.

Union Bordeaux-Begles: After cruising along in mid-table for the first half of the Top 14 season, UBB have claimed victory just once in their last seven starts. A return to the ProD2 is now on the cards.

Morne Steyn: Bulls fans are wondering what's going on with Meneer Betroubare, who landed just three of his eights kicks at goal at Ellis Park. Good thing the rest of his team smashed the Lions in every other sector.

The new England Sevens kit: Just when we managed to distinguish the England Sevens team and the Dutch soccer team, we have now been inflicted with some designer's tribute to roadside safety wear. Oh dear…
