Scotland lock Scott Cummings says that they go into the game against Wales in a confident mood as they look to continue their Six Nations momentum despite a seven-month delay.
Cummings got his first taste of the Six Nations in narrow opening defeats by Ireland and England ahead of playing in two victories before the pandemic took hold.
The 23-year-old said: “We got those two wins against Italy and France, we were definitely building and our defence was getting better and better. We were playing with a lot more confidence.
“Now we have come together again and we have kept that confidence and we will be going down to Wales pushing and expecting to get a result.”
Scotland debutants
Cummings was joined by fellow Glasgow forward Oli Kebble in Friday’s 48-7 warm-up win over Georgia and is excited about what he and another South African native, Duhan van der Merwe, will bring to the team.
“I have played with Oli for a couple of years now at Glasgow and he made a great impact with us, so to see him come on and play well for the last 20 minutes for Scotland was amazing,” Cummings said.
“He is a great guy to have around camp. He is a big ball carrier. For having such a big frame, he carries the ball a lot.
“He is a great worker around the pitch and he is obviously a really good scrummager and strong in that position.
“Duhan has been playing exceptionally well for Edinburgh for the last couple of years and he played well on Friday and I’m sure he will do so in the future for Scotland.
“I’m sure they will both play big parts for Scotland.”
