Wales call-up for Shingler

Wales have announced that Scarlets back-row Aaron Shingler has been called up to their squad ahead of their matches against Samoa and Tonga.

Shingler, who has been in impressive form this season, replaces the injured James King in the team and joins Phil Dollman as a new face.

The 29-year-old, who won the last of his 10 caps against South Africa in 2014, has made 26 appearances this season, scoring seven tries.

“The two players coming in have been in excellent form lately and we’re looking for them to bring that level of performance with them,” said head coach Robin McBryde. “They’ll be arriving with their tails up having made it to those finals, so it should be a boost for them as well as us.”
