Video of the Week: Jonah Lomu steamrollers England

It’s that time again for Planet Rugby’s Video of the Week, bringing you standout footage you may like. Today, we celebrate the 25-year anniversary of arguably rugby’s most iconic performance.

25 years ago this week, legendary All Blacks wing Jonah Lomu produced one of the great World Cup displays, scoring four tries in a dominant 45-29 triumph over England in their semi-final in Cape Town.

His first effort is the one which is often replayed, however, as he received the ball on the left, shook off two defenders and went charging towards the line. Mike Catt was in his way but the Red Rose full-back was barely a speed bump as Lomu barrelled over the top of him and duly touched down for a memorable score.
