Former British & Irish Lions tourist Stephen Ferris believes it was a “weird call” from the tourists to bring in squad replacements and not play them in their midweek fixtures against the Chiefs and Hurricanes.
Ferris was speaking following the decision that saw the Lions use just Finn Russell against the Hurricanes in the game on Tuesday, which was only because of a HIA that fly-half Dan Biggar was undergoing at Westpac Stadium.
