Scotland prop Oli Kebble has signed a new contract with Glasgow Warriors and is delighted with the extension keeping him in an environment where he feels at home.

After signing in 2017, Kebble has become a core member of their forward pack due to his versatility in the front-row and general physicality.

Happy to stay

Since making a move from the Stormers, the 29-year-old has 11 appearances for Scotland and is happy with his base in Glasgow.

“I’m stoked to be staying,” Kebble said to the Warriors website.

“It was a really easy decision for both my partner and I – we both really wanted to stay and I’m delighted to get the deal over the line. Glasgow has really become a home for us.

“The environment that the club offers not just for players, but for families, is second to none and we couldn’t be happier to be staying.”

Kebble is excited by what the future holds for the club as there is some promising young talent coming through the ranks.

“There’s so much young talent coming through,” he said. “I sometimes have to pinch myself that I’m one of the more experienced heads in the squad now – I’m still young at heart!

“These guys are going to make us so much stronger and they’re going to develop into key players for this club.

“I’m excited for what’s to come in a Glasgow Warriors jersey – this club is building really nicely with one of the strongest squads since I’ve been here, the future is looking bright and it’s a great time to be a Glasgow Warrior.”

Coach Danny Wilson was pleased with the extension and underlined the Durban-born prop’s value to the club.

“Oli is an outstanding scrummager and a huge physical presence,” he said.

“His ability to play on both sides of the scrum has been an asset to us this season and we’re pleased that he is going to be a part of our pack for the foreseeable future.”
