Toulon have suffered a setback after it was confirmed that centre Malakai Fekitoa has been ruled out for six weeks due to injury.

Fekitoa sustained a knee injury on December 16 in Toulon’s Round Four Champions Cup defeat to Montpellier and has had an operation to repair the damage.

The 26-year-old, who represented the All Blacks in 24 Tests, has scored eight tries in 30 matches since joining Toulon in 2017.

Meanwhile, Toulon also confirmed that their lock and vice-captain Swan Rebbadj will be sidelined for a month and a half with an ankle injury.

Toulon’s next match is at home against Edinburgh in the Champions Cup on Saturday before they take on Newcastle Falcons in their final pool match in Newcastle on Friday, January 18.
