Top 14: Christophe Urios and Ronan O’Gara cautioned for touchline spat

Christophe Urios and Ronan O’Gara have both been issued a conduct warning for their touchline altercation during a Top 14 clash a fortnight ago.

Bordeaux-Begles coach Urios was irritated by La Rochelle coach O’Gara’s enthusiastic celebration of his team’s defensive set during the match.

Lucky man

The two came face to face, with Urios taking a swat at O’Gara’s cheek before they were separated by officials.

O’Gara is currently serving a two-game suspension for his comments about the match officials and touchline conduct in another game, and can probably consider himself fortunate not to have been more heavily censured here.

Elsewhere, France international full-back Thomas Ramos has extended his contract at Toulouse for four more years.

There is likely to be heavy competition for the full-back jersey at the Ernest-Wallon next season, with Melvin Jaminet arriving from Perpignan and Italy’s international find of the season Ange Capuozzo joining from Grenoble.

However, it is also thought Ramos may be tasked with filling a role as back-up fly-half to Romain Ntamack.
