Leicester Tigers hooker and captain Tom Youngs is due to appear before an independent disciplinary panel on Wednesday evening after an incident of foul play.

Youngs was shown a red card by referee Tom Foley in the 56th minute of the Premiership match between Leicester Tigers and Exeter Chiefs on Saturday, April 6.

This was for making contact with Chiefs lock Ollie Atkins’ head in a ruck contrary to Law 9.20(a) – dangerous play in a ruck or maul.

The hearing will take place in London on Wednesday, April 10 at 17:00 BST. The panel will be chaired by Philip Evans QC with Richard Whittam QC and Chris Skaife.
