The Crusaders eased to a 61-3 win over the Fijian Drua at Orangetheory Stadium in Christchurch on Friday, running in nine tries in total.

A crossing on three minutes from Leicester Faingaanuku set them on their way as, following a Teti Tela penalty for the Drua, the hosts then clicked.

Further first-half tries from Tom Christie, Sam Whitelock and Sevu Reece with Fergus Burke conversions sent them into the break 28-3 in the lead.

It was more of the same after the resumption too as Burke, Reece, George Bridge, Braydon Ennor and Christie crossed to seal a comfortable triumph.

The hefty victory leaves the Crusaders two points behind the Blues atop the Super Rugby Pacific table, with the Auckland outfit playing on Saturday.
