The Sunwolves have announced the signing of versatile back Alex Horan, son of Wallabies legend Tim, ahead of their final campaign in Super Rugby.
Horan, 22, is one of four new players to join up with the squad as they approach their season opener, against the Melbourne Rebels in Fukuoka.
The University of Queensland back joins fellow Australians such as Ben Hyne, Jake Schatz and Jordan Jackson-Hope in the Sunwolves squad.
They have also signed South African flanker Justin Downey and Japanese front-rows Kaku Bunkei and Mamoru Harada in a training capacity.
Chris Eves and Hencus van Wyk were also signed on full-time contracts as the Sunwolves look to sign off from the competition in a positive fashion, this after the Japan Rugby Football Union withdrew its funding and SANZAAR decided to cut them from Super Rugby after this year.
The Sunwolves’ 2020 squad includes former England centre Ben Te’o and South African back trio Rudy Paige, Garth April and JJ Engelbrecht.
