Sunday Social: Tributes, milestones and Eddie Vader

It is time for Planet Rugby’s Sunday Social, your quirky recap of the serious and not so serious talking points from the past week’s action.

We begin on a sad note after the news that France legend Christophe Dominici had died, aged 48. This banner was a nice touch at Saturday’s match against Italy.

It was an impressive second-half that helped Les Bleus honour the great finisher with a win. Here is Gabin Villiere having time to kiss the ball before scoring.

There was unfortunately another death in sport this past week as Argentina soccer legend Diego Maradona passed away. This was a lovely gesture from New Zealand.

On to the match and the All Blacks exacted revenge over the Pumas for a recent defeat as they won 38-0. Caleb Clarke, though, was in the wars with Scott Barrett.

Remember last week when Pablo Matera gave his playing jersey to a fan? Well, the youngster was back again to support his favourite player, against New Zealand.

Over in the Mitre 10 Cup, own up, who forgot the sponsorship board?

Heading north and there was a milestone in rugby over the weekend as official Nigel Owens refereed his 100th Test fixture. World Rugby made this tribute video.

England booked their place in the Autumn Nations Cup final with a win over Wales, but before kick-off head coach Eddie Jones went all Darth Vader. Funny stuff.
