Sunday Social: Six Nations, great offloads and late hits

Colin Newboult

It is time for Planet Rugby’s Sunday Social, your quirky recap of the serious and not so serious talking points from the weekend’s action.

We begin with the Six Nations as the start of the competition is just a few days away. It will bring out a variety of emotions, as this brilliant speech shows.

This from RugbyPass is similarly excellent but in a slightly different way.

Meanwhile, England may have had issues up front in last year’s competition but it is unlikely these three will be making a comeback to help Eddie Jones’ side.

Despite the focus on the Six Nations, the PRO14, Top 14 and Sevens has taken place over the weekend and this was a brilliant try from the Kings, which secured victory over Edinburgh.

There was also plenty of big hits but was just a tad late from Cardiff Blues number eight Nick Williams.

In the southern hemisphere, Fiji once again displayed their magic by retaining the Hamilton Sevens title and it was no surprise judging by scores like this.

Finally, January is the month where plenty of rumours circulate as teams in England can open talks with players from other Premiership sides. Jonathan Joseph and Joe Launchbury have both been linked with moves away from Bath and Wasps respectively and those clubs did not take too kindly to recent reports.
