Sunday Social: Sir Bill, Perry wed and Ward fallout
It is time for Planet Rugby’s Sunday Social, your quirky recap of the serious and not so serious talking points from the weekend’s action.
There was good news for rugby in the New Year’s honours list as former England captain Bill Beaumont was knighted while former Ireland captain Willie John McBride became a CBE.
I am truly honoured & humbled to be awarded a knighthood for services to rugby in Her Majesty The Queen’s New Year honours. Rugby & family are my life & I always strive to do the best for the legion of players, volunteers & fans who are the heartbeat of our great sport

Speaking of special days and Sale enjoyed an impressive win on the road and when they score tries like this, many more victories should come.

Unfortunately on a sour note there could be some repercussions for Harlequins forward Dave Ward as there has been an allegation that he spat at a Wasps player as well as performing a neck roll and stamp.
Let’s not get carried away, it’s naughty but it’s not a stamp https://t.co/CBPZg6XSXh
