Sunday Social: Santa, intercepts and cross-bar rewards

Adam Kyriacou

It is time for Planet Rugby’s Sunday Social, your quirky recap of the serious and not so serious talking points from the weekend’s action.

With Christmas just around the corner, it looks like Santa Claus is primed for action as this brilliant video from USA Sevens Rugby shows.

On to the rugby action and we start with the top-of-the-table showdown in the Premiership, as Exeter Chiefs handed Saracens a rare defeat.

In the PRO14 there was high drama at the RDS as Leinster fought back from 29-12 down with 10 minutes to play to win 33-29 against Connacht.

Connacht, of course, were crushed by the final result…

For Leicester they enjoyed a rare win as their dismal run of form finally ended thanks, in part, to this lovely move involving George Ford.

It seemed to be the weekend of interceptions in Europe so here’s two of them as Cobus Reinach and Duhan van der Merwe raced in from range.

Meanwhile in the Top 14, Montpellier’s season went from bad to worse as they suffered defeat at Grenoble, who were understandably thrilled.

And finally, we don’t think Toulon centre Francois Trinh-Duc could do this again. Liam Messam shows why you should always follow up kicks.
