Sunday Social: Lockdowns, isolation & social distancing

Colin Newboult

It is time for Planet Rugby’s Sunday Social, your quirky recap of the serious and not so serious talking points from the past week’s action.

With Covid-19 still dominating the news, most countries’ governments have implemented lockdowns and we start with this post from Squidge Rugby, who feels that it’s something which shouldn’t be a problem for the Saracens fanclub.

The life commentaries continue from Nick Heath, who, like most people, clearly has plenty of time on his hands at the moment.

Not to be outdone, Andrew Cotter joins in the commentary fun with this brilliant summary of his two dogs enjoying their dinner.

We also took a walk down memory lane with this great try from prop Logovi’i Mulipola, during his time at Leicester Tigers, which will warm the hearts of front-rowers around the world.

Elsewhere, Leinster and Ireland front-row Cian Healy was caught doing this impersonation of Sukari, the giraffe in The Lion King movie.

Meanwhile, former Scotland wing Tim Visser admitted to practising social distancing long before it became part of our daily lives.

There was more social distancing with this illustration of how far Georgia are from being included in the Six Nations.

While this one takes it to the next level on how close England came to being crowned world champions in Japan last year.

Former England hooker Brian Moore came up with this novel way of lifting weights while spending time indoors.

Meanwhile, Bristol Bears back-row Dan Thomas spent his period of isolation by doing something similar with some farm animals.

England and Saracens flanker Vicky Fleetwood also showed off her strength with a more conventional workout in her garden.

Finally, we end on a light note and with some saxophone action as All Black Angus Ta’avao joins George Michael in his music video.
