Sunday Social: Jack Nowell mayhem at Munster, Joe Marler antics and slugging pints in South Africa

Dylan Coetzee

It is time for Planet Rugby’s Sunday Social, your quirky recap of the serious and not so serious talking points from the past week’s action.

Starting off, this simply cannot be scripted! Exeter’s Jack Nowell on his stag do wearing a Munster shirt with a pint in hand as he supports his side’s Champions Cup clash. His mates have gone to town on this one.

The Chronicles of Jack Nowell do not stop there. Here is the speedster fully immersed. One can only imagine the festivities to follow.

Peter O’Mahony was sublime for Munster on Saturday, and that was not lost on the internet. Brilliant edit in this one for a brilliant performance.

Pockets full for the Irishman. You got to love that! Big pockets for O’Mahony. Exeter will need a day off if they see this one.

Meanwhile, Joe Marler being, well, Joe Marler. Fit for the front-row and fit for a biker gang. Post-career hobby sorted, Joe?

You shall not pass! It is Marler’s world, and we are just living in it. What a personality he is in the game of rugby!

On the sevens circuit, a vibe on and off the field! The Kenyan side show off their dance moves in grand style.

Have a look at this. Out the side door, through the legs, a hop and skip. This try had everything and nothing conventional from the Scarlets. They all count the same, excellent scrambling.

Out in South Africa, nothing like your director of rugby posting a video of you slugging a pint. Rassie Erasmus commends Frans Steyn as he makes light work of a fan’s pint. It must be all the practice from celebrating two World Cup wins.

‘Got some paper?’. Alex Dombrandt hilariously signs a fan’s head, much to the crowd’s amusement. A man of the people, indeed.

Finally, it was a nice touch from Scarlets to ask recently retired flanker James Davies to bring out the match ball on Saturday. A wonderful player both formats of the game.
