David Skippers

It is time for Planet Rugby’s Sunday Social, your quirky recap of the serious and not so serious talking points from the past week’s action.

Every four years, the British & Irish Lions bring plenty of excitement to rugby fans around the globe and here we look back at their first jersey presentation during their tour of South Africa in 1997.

Staying with the famous touring team, who had a brilliant and unpredictable player in Brian O’Driscoll but few people could have predicted this piece of magic from him during a Lions training session in Australia in 2013.

Meanwhile, Graham Love was on form again as he compared the impact of former Samoa centre Brian Lima’s big hits to that of USA president Donald Trump’s tweets.

In South Africa, Southern Kings second-row Aaron Brody showed off his strength as he made light work of pulling three cars during his training routine.

For refreshments, ex-England utility back Dan Scarbrough dusted off an interesting piece of memorabilia from 2003 which he rediscovered recently.

And finally, Wallabies greats Drew Mitchell, Matt Giteau and Adam Ashley-Cooper are doing a good job of promoting their Pilou Pilou Rosé. The wine is named after the war cry of Top 14 giants Toulon, where Mitchell and Giteau played with great success.
