The first choice loosehead sustained the injury in the Stormers' 20-12 win over the Hurricanes at Newlands on Saturday.

Moller is expected to be sidelined for 2-3 months. The injury is a serious blow to the Stormers' semi-final aspirations as Rassie Erasmus's squad is a bit light in front row personnel after a spate of injuries.

Eddie Andrews has already been ruled out of the rest of the Super 14 with an injured back while Schalk Ferrerria has only just recovered from a career threatening neck injury.

The squad does have two specialist tighthead props in Brok Harris and Brian Mujati. Janro van Niekerk and Wikus Blaauw, who are untested this year, might offer other alternatives.

Meanwhile, the Stormers will have to wait for news about injured winger Tonderai Chavanga who strained a hamstring in the same game.

The Stormers' speedster is expected to be out for a minimum of two weeks but has to wait for the injury to settle down before undergoing further testing.
