Stiles delighted with Reds’ determination

Reds head coach Nick Stiles is delighted with the determination shown by his players in Friday’s 28-26 win over the Sharks in Brisbane.

The home side trailed for most of the match and after the Sharks went into the sheds at half-time leading 16-13, the Reds outscored them 15-10 in the second half to secure the win in their tournament opener.

“To win those tight games and show character like that, it’s what you build success off,” said Stiles after the match.

“In terms of combinations, this side has come together in the past few weeks, so it was pleasing to think we had the character and the courage to stick at it and come through playing some good Rugby.

“It’s a good lesson for us to learn, it’s round one and we fought hard and got a win.”
