Stephen Larkham keen to stay at Munster

Munster senior coach Stephen Larkham has confirmed that he would like to continue his stint with the Irish province beyond the 2021/22 campaign.

Larkham and the rest of Munster’s coaching staff are all out of contract at the end of the current season but the former Wallabies fly-half revealed they are all keen to sign new deals.

Munster head coach Johann van Graan did not want to discuss his contract situation last week but Larkham’s response was unequivocal when speaking on the matter.

Keen to stay on

“Of course, we all do,” he told the Irish Examiner when asked if he wants to stay beyond his current contract.

“It’s a great environment here at the moment. We certainly feel like things are building in the right direction, we had a really good year last year and we want that to continue.

“We’ve got a really good cohesion as a coaching group at the moment, we’re really enjoying it and from a playing perspective it’s really our third year together now as a larger group, so yeah, the environment’s great at the moment.”
