Springbok Joseph Dweba linked with Stormers move

Newly capped Springboks hooker Joseph Dweba is said to be on the Stormers’ shopping-list for next season.
According to Netwerk 24, Dweba is currently in discussions with the Cape Town-based side.
The 26-year-old signed for Top 14 outfit Bordeaux-Begles last year from the Cheetahs meaning a move back to South Africa would only materialise from the 2022/23 season.
Dweba is not the starting hooker at UBB, and returning to South Africa may aid his chances of maintaining his place in the Springbok squad.
Despite being a squad member throughout 2021, the robust hooker made only one appearance for the Boks in the 32-12 win over Argentina in Gqeberha in August.
Because Dweba is a player of interest to the Springboks, his salary would be supplemented by SA Rugby, which could boost the chances of a deal landing him in Cape Town.
Bongi Mbonambi recently signed for the Sharks, leaving fellow Springbok Scarra Ntubeni as the Stormers’ first-choice hooker with young prospects Andre-Hugo Venter and JJ Kotze also vying for a spot in the side.
