Season over for Nick Abendanon

Clermont have announced that their full-back, Nick Abendanon, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a cervical injury.

Abendanon, who has been one of the Top 14 outfit’s leading players since joining them from Bath in 2014, only returned to action in December after suffering from a shoulder injury.

But according to an AFP report, the 32-year-old will now receive treatment for his latest injury.

Clermont reached the Challenge Cup Final at the weekend after beating Harlequins in their semi-final at Stade Marcel-Michelin.

They are currently in second place in the Top 14 standings, eight points adrift of table-toppers Toulouse.
