Scotland and Lions wing Sean Maitland has put pen to paper on a one-year extension at Saracens, the Premiership side has announced.

Maitland recently hit 100 games for Saracens and has become a mainstay of the team since he joined StoneX Stadium in 2016 from London Irish.

The 33-year-old, who has 53 caps for Scotland, has never let the Premiership side down and has scored 42 tries for them to date in a handy return.

Close to my heart

“Saracens is a club that is very close to my heart and I am very excited to be here for another year,” said a delighted Maitland after agreeing terms.

“We have a special group here who I love being around and I truly believe we are on course to achieve our goals which is a huge motivation for all of us.”

Director of rugby Mark McCall said: “Sean is hugely respected by everyone at the training ground, is playing as well as ever and has been a key member of our group during his time at the club.

“We are delighted he has extended his stay at the club.”
