Scotland branch out to Aberdeen

Scotland will face Canada at Aberdeen's Pittodrie stadium in November.

Scotland's national team will go on the road in November with Pittodrie announced as the venue for the November Test against Canada.

It will be just the second Scotland international to be played at Aberdeen Football Club's home ground, and will follow three years on from the first, a match against the Barbarians.

The match at the 21,500-capacity stadium will take place on November 22.

Scotland forward Jason White, who first played rugby for Aberdeen Wanderers, welcomed the announcement as the Scottish Rugby Union opted against using Murrayfield for the match.

“No matter how many times you play for your country, it's never something you take for granted,” White said.

“For me to play in the city where I spent so much of my childhood and where I was first introduced to the sport would be massive.

“Our supporters in the north east are among the most passionate and loyal Scotland fans anywhere and it's great that we'll be playing on their patch this autumn.

“I hope we can pack Pittodrie to the rafters and give Canada a typically rousing Aberdeen welcome.”
