The Scarlets are said to be in talks with All Black prop Greg Somerville with regards to a possible move to Stradey Park.
Director of Rugby Phil Davies and Chief Executive Stuart Gallacher are currently in New Zealand on a scouting mission, and it is no secret that the Scarlets want to bolster their tight five.
Somerville, 30, has recently told the New Zealand press that he is considering a move overseas and would be a welcome arrival in West Wales.
“I'm negotiating between New Zealand and overseas at the same time,” Somerville said this week.
“I'm just weighing up what's going to be the best. It's still a wee bit up in the air at the moment.
“It's mainly the UK at the moment but I love Christchurch and Super 14, so I am keeping an open mind on that sort of thing. I haven't made any decisions.”
The Scarlets are also said to be interested in Wallaby back-rower Rocky Elsom, who has also expressed a desire to play overseas, as well as All Black Jerry Collins.
There are set to be further announcements about who is arriving at Stradey and who is heading out of the exit door when Gallacher and Davies return.
