Saracens drawn with Toulon in Champions Cup
The 2016/17 Champions Cup pool draw has been made, with last season’s winners Saracens alongside Toulon, Scarlets and Sale.
Saracens, who won the domestic and European double in 2015/16, will be looking to back that up when they kick off their Pool 3 campaign.
Pool 1 will see beaten finalists Racing 92 face tough opposition in Glasgow, Leicester and Munster in what is arguably the ‘Pool of Death’.
PRO12 champions Connacht are alongside big-spending Wasps, Toulouse and Zebre while Challenge Cup winners Montpellier face Leinster, Northampton and Castres in what should be a tight Pool 4 in the competition.
But perhaps the pick of the European groups comes in Pool 5 as Exeter Chiefs prepare to face Clermont, Ulster and Bordeaux-Bègles.
