Another busy day in the rugby union game as we look back at the week’s action in the World Cup and name our best XV from the matches that took place.

What’s on the site

Japan stunned Ireland in their World Cup Pool A encounter on Saturday and Jamie Joseph’s men are rewarded for that incredible effort with four representatives in our Team of the Week.

Scotland also claimed an impressive victory against Samoa earlier today and two of their players, Stuart Hogg and Sean Maitland, made a late surge to be involved in the XV.

That tournament is obviously to the fore in ‘who’s hot and who’s not.‘ It discusses the Brave Blossoms’ remarkable performance and a couple more high tackle controversies which have reared its head.

Finally, check out all the highlights from the action, including the Scots’ win over the Pacific Islanders and the first round of the PRO14, which saw the Cheetahs produce the result of the weekend by thrashing the Glasgow Warriors.

The Rugby World Cup continues where all the games will be exclusively live on ITV. It should be another thrilling week of action with England v Argentina the standout contest.

Away from the global tournament, it is the second round of the PRO14 and all the matches are being shown on Premier Sports. Even without their international stars, there are some intriguing encounters as Glasgow take on the Scarlets and Leinster face the Ospreys.

On BT Sport, the Premiership Rugby Cup has reached the third round as Worcester host Exeter and Saracens visit Northampton, while Sky Sports are showing the Mitre 10 Cup.
