Another busy day in the rugby union game as we look back at the action in the Super Rugby and name our best XV from the matches that took place.

What’s on the site

It was a good weekend for the Jaguares and Stormers, who claimed victories over the Reds and Lions respectively, and they are rewarded with three representatives apiece in our Super Rugby Team of the Week.

That competition is also discussed in ‘Who’s hot and who’s not,’ which delves into the main talking points from the past seven days. We duly look at Cullen Grace’s impressive performance for the Crusaders and Julian Montoya’s excellent hat-trick for the Jags.

Elsewhere, there were good wins for Bristol, London Irish and Exeter Chiefs in the Premiership and highlights from England’s top-tier can be found on the site.

What’s in the news

England fly-half George Ford is looking to gain revenge for Ireland’s victory back in 2018 when Joe Schmidt’s men claimed the Grand Slam with a 24-15 triumph at Twickenham.

Meanwhile, South African star Cheslin Kolbe, who is currently playing for Toulouse in the Top 14, is hoping to be given the green light to feature for the Blitzboks at the Tokyo Olympics.

Finally, there was plenty of contract news with Tom Marshall and Pete Horne agreeing deals at Gloucester and Glasgow Warriors respectively, while Sam Hidalgo-Clyne has signed a contract with Exeter Chiefs.

What’s on TV

The Six Nations returns this weekend for Round Three and all the games will be on the BBC and ITV. The former will show Wales’ encounter with France while the latter has Italy v Scotland and England v Ireland.

There is also plenty of domestic action in Europe with BT Sport broadcasting matters from the Premiership as Sale face Leicester and Exeter take on Northampton.

In the PRO14, all the matches will be televised on Premier Sports with Edinburgh’s Conference B encounter against Connacht the big contest.

Finally, Super Rugby continues on Sky Sports, which begins with the all-New Zealand clash between the Crusaders and Highlanders.
