Another busy day in the rugby union game as we begin to publish our Super Rugby team previews as well as having Expert Witness with Michael Owen.

What’s on the site

Super Rugby is not that far away now with the kick-off on February 17. We will be bringing you separate team previews until then, starting from the bottom of last year’s standings with the Rebels and Sunwolves and working our way up to now eight-time champions, the Crusaders.

Elsewhere on the website we have former Wales number eight Owen previewing this weekend’s Six Nations games, focussing on England versus Wales, while John Nicholson discusses how players have changed since his time at school and whether bigger is in fact better for the game.

What’s in the news

England call-up Richard Wigglesworth has admitted to a nervous wait by the telephone before he eventually replaced the injured Ben Youngs.

Wales meanwhile have released 11 players from their squad who will return to their clubs this weekend, including Saracens’ Liam Williams.

What’s on social media

We covered the ugly events that took place in Georgia over the weekend as two sides came to blows. Let’s hope punishments are handed out.

What’s on TV

The Six Nations continues this weekend with ITV televising the double-header on Saturday before the BBC broadcasts the Scotland-France clash.

Aviva Premiership rugby also returns and BT Sport will show two matches with Bath and Northampton going head-to-head, while Harlequins take on Wasps.

On Sky Sports, they will screen the England-Wales U20 Six Nations encounter before showing the women’s Six Nations the next day.
