Another busy day in the rugby union game as we look at how Ireland and Scotland are currently progressing in our State of the Nation series.

We continue our look back to the recent Six Nations and how the sides performed during the competition. Today we delved into Ireland and Scotland, who both won two of their games before the tournament was suspended.
Elsewhere, there is another ‘on this day’ feature, which discussed the encounter between Ireland and England in 2017. The Red Rose were searching for their second successive Grand Slam and a record run of 19 consecutive Test victories, but they were met by an impressive Irish team.
What’s in the news
The big story comes from South Africa where World Rugby Player of the Year Pieter-Steph du Toit escaped having his leg amputated after suffering a freak injury playing for the Stormers against the Blues.
Continuing at the Cape Town-based outfit and their Welsh centre Jamie Roberts will not be returning to Britain, despite Super Rugby being suspended indefinitely, due to the travel restrictions.
Meanwhile, wing George North has praised team-mate and Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones, who is just one game away from equalling Richie McCaw’s Test cap record.
