Rugby Union Today: Six Nations previews

Another busy day in the rugby union game as we bring you our previews for the upcoming Six Nations weekend in Paris, Cardiff and Rome plus team news from the Premiership and PRO14.

What’s on the site

France versus Scotland kicks off the Six Nations weekend before it’s Wales hosting England in what should be an epic game. On Sunday the focus turns to Rome where Ireland look to breeze past Italy.

The Premiership round continues this Saturday and Sunday while there is also PRO14 action on the schedule on those days.

Round Two of Super Rugby has already kicked off and there was a 36-31 win for the Highlanders over the Reds in Dunedin.

What’s in the news

Despite speculation linking him with a switch to Racing 92, England international centre Manu Tuilagi is still in contract talks with current club Leicester Tigers, that’s according to BBC Radio Leicester.

Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones believes there is more to come from his side as they prepare to tackle England in Cardiff.

What’s on TV

The Six Nations returns with Wales v England at the Principality Stadium the big clash. The BBC will show that game, as well as the preceding France v Scotland contest, while ITV have Italy’s encounter against Ireland.

Super Rugby Round Two also takes place this weekend with Sky Sports televising all the action, starting with the Highlanders hosting the Reds in Dunedin, while they will also broadcast two Top 14 matches.

On BT Sport, they have a couple of Premiership games as Gloucester host Saracens and Worcester Warriors face Leicester Tigers in a Midlands derby.

Completing a packed schedule is the PRO14, which is once again extensively covered by Premier Sports, with Ospreys v Munster the standout.
