Another busy day in the rugby union game as we looked back at the Six Nations with the six players that impressed in the 2020 campaign.

What’s on the site

Although there are still four games to play in the 2020 Six Nations, there were plenty of excellent performances in the other matches and they are listed in the ‘Six players who stood out.’

Elsewhere, we look back to the 2013 version of the tournament where Wales thrashed England 30-3 to end the visitors’ Grand Slam dreams and snatch the title from the Red Rose.

There were games at the weekend, however, as Super Rugby played its final round before being suspended due to the coronavirus. It was a good Saturday for the Blues and Reds, who claimed victories over the Lions and Bulls respectively, and they are rewarded with four players apiece in our Team of the Week.

That competition is also discussed in ‘Who’s hot and who’s not,’ which delves into the main talking points from the past seven days. That includes the Sharks’ impressive form and the incident which saw the Stormers’ Johan du Toit only receive a yellow card for taking Louis Schreuder out in the air.

What’s in the news

South African Rugby have made plans to combat the coronavirus, including testing the sevens and U20 squads for the disease, while they have also cancelled several events over the coming weeks.

Finally, the Ospreys have announced that former Wales international Dan Lydiate has agreed a new contract with the region. The back-rower has signed a two-year deal at the Swansea-based outfit to remain at the Liberty Stadium until at least June 2022.
