Another busy day in the rugby union game as we look ahead to New Zealand v South Africa and Australia v Argentina in the Rugby Championship.

With the Rugby Championship continuing on Saturday, we have previewed both Tests. The first will see New Zealand attempting to retain their unbeaten run in this year’s competition when they host South Africa in Wellington, before Australia and Argentina face off on the Gold Coast.

Those Rugby Championship matches are also the focus for our betting preview and we also have highlights from the Mitre 10 Cup.

In other action, the northern hemisphere season continues this weekend and we have looked at all the major leagues in Europe: Premiership, PRO14 and Top 14.

What’s in the news

Australia suffered a major setback ahead of their Rugby Championship clash with Argentina after their captain, Michael Hooper, was forced to withdraw due to a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, both Northampton and the Ospreys were also dealt blows as Saints lost Ken Pisi for up to 12 weeks with a shoulder ailment while the Welsh region will be without Lloyd Ashley and Scott Williams, who sustained AC joint and hamstring injuries respectively.

Finally, Worcester Warriors back-row Cornell du Preez will stay in hospital for a further four weeks after undergoing throat surgery on Monday.

The Reds have announced that Filipo Daugunu, Aidan Toua, Chris Feauai-Sautia and Alex Mafi have all signed new contracts with the Brisbane-based Super Rugby franchise.

What’s on TV

Once again it is a busy week with the Rugby Championship meetings between New Zealand and South Africa and Australia v Argentina televised on Sky Sports. Sky also cover four Mitre 10 Cup matches and La Rochelle v Perpignan and Stade Francais v Toulon in the Top 14 this Sunday.

BT Sport will televise three Premiership matches, starting on Friday when Gloucester host Bristol before Saturday’s Harlequins v Bath game and then Wasps against Leicester Tigers on Sunday, while Premier Sport offers all seven Round Three games from the PRO14 this coming weekend.
