Rugby Union Today: Pay cuts and free-to-air setback

Another busy day in the rugby union game as the sport continues to be affected by the coronavirus while there’s a free-to-air setback as the Six Nations remains at Category B status despite protests.

The government has rejected a chance to ensure the Six Nations stays on free-to-air TV by snubbing a call to give it Group A status.

In the Premiership there are now four clubs, including Saracens, who have announced 25 per cent pay cuts for their players and staff.
