Harlequins' head of rugby Paul Gustard during the Gallagher Premiership at Franklins Gardens, Northampton.
Another busy day in the rugby union game as there was a surprise departure in the English Premiership with Paul Gustard leaving his position at Harlequins.
What’s on the site
Paul Gustard’s two-and-a-half year tenure at Harlequins has come to an end with the head of rugby leaving by mutual consent. Gustard has departed to pursue other opportunities in the game.
That news perhaps overshadowed the Six Nations squad announcements as Cameron Redpath received a Scotland call-up, while Dan Lydiate is back in contention for Wales, but there is no place for Rhys Webb.
Elsewhere, the England squad is revealed on Friday and James While delved into the big questions facing head coach Eddie Jones ahead of the annual international tournament.
What’s in the news
Speaking of Jones, the Red Rose boss has been forced to self-isolate after assistant Matt Proudfoot tested positive for coronavirus.
Meanwhile, Leicester Tigers have confirmed the signing of Argentina hooker Julian Montoya. The front-rower has joined with immediate effect and has agreed a long-term contract with the English club.
Finally, Cardiff Blues head coach Dai Young says that there are no regrets over his departure from Wasps. Young has rejoined the Welsh region after leaving the Midlands outfit in February last year.
