Another busy day in the rugby union game as a scan revealed that star South Africa hooker Malcolm Marx has suffered a hamstring tendon tear and is a significant doubt for the June games.

Star South Africa hooker Malcolm Marx went off early with a hamstring injury against the Hurricanes last Saturday and it has been confirmed that he will miss six weeks. With matches against Wales and England not far away, it is a significant setback for boss Rassie Erasmus.

On the contract front, coaches Simon Easterby, Andy Farrell, Greg Feek and Richie Murphy have all signed new deals with the IRFU, while Ryan Crotty and Scott Barrett have extended their stay at the Crusaders.

Continuing in Super Rugby and Sonny Bill Williams will make his return for the Blues with Rieko Ioane shifting back to wing.
