Another busy day in the rugby union game as we look ahead to all the Six Nations and Bledisloe Cup action that takes place on Saturday.

What’s on the site

France’s encounter with Ireland is the biggest game in the northern hemisphere on Saturday as they look to potentially claim the title and we have previewed that contest.

England are another team in contention and are considered the favourites going into weekend. They have the easiest task against Italy but will likely have to rack up the points ahead of the final game between Les Bleus and the Irish.

Elsewhere, we delve into Wales’ match against Scotland and the third Bledisloe Cup clash as Australia host New Zealand for the first time in 2020. The All Blacks currently lead the series 1-0 after two games.

Finally, there are a number of other features to look at, including Alun Wyn Jones’ career in numbers, five talking points from Italy and Wales, and the Video of the Week.

What’s in the news

George North was dropped from Wales’ side to face Scotland this weekend, but head coach Wayne Pivac said it was an ‘easy’ decision due to the wing’s disappointing performance against France.

Meanwhile, Connacht’s game against Benetton in the PRO14 has been postponed after some members of the Italians’ team tested positive for coronavirus.

Finally, Owen Farrell has been discussing the tackle which saw him red carded and banned for five weeks, saying that he regrets the incident.

Plenty of people have been reacting to an open and heartfelt column from former Waratahs and Brumbies prop Dan Palmer.
