Rugby Union Today: June Tests Team of the Week
Another busy day in the rugby union game as we review the weekend’s action and name the best XV from the internationals that took place.
What’s on the site
It was a good Saturday for New Zealand, Ireland, England and Scotland and that is reflected in our Team of the Week. The All Blacks have five representatives while there were three each from the European countries, who secured victories over Australia, South Africa and Argentina respectively.
Joe Schmidt’s men were also praised in ‘who’s hot and who’s not,’ alongside the USA and Japan, after they all picked up impressive wins.
Finally, check out highlights of the Red Rose’s triumph over the Springboks which ended their six-match losing streak.
What’s in the news
Scottish Rugby have made an interesting appointment by bringing in Wigan head coach Shaun Wane as their high performance coach. Wane will join after the Super League season has finished.
Meanwhile, England have moved back up to fourth in the world rankings after their victory over South Africa at Newlands.
In Super Rugby, the Waratahs will be without flanker Michael Hooper for the next four weeks after an injury picked up against Ireland and Matt Todd has signed a new contract with New Zealand Rugby.

Danny Cipriani may have been up against some gargantuan Springbok forwards on Saturday but evidently toddlers are far more fearsome.
Been fortunate to go all season without an injury. Played tag with 2 year old. Rolled my ankle! Must be getting old 🙌🏽

What’s on TV
With the June internationals now over, thus ending the 2017/18 northern hemisphere season, attention switches to Super Rugby. Sky Sports will show all seven matches this weekend, which begins with the Blues hosting the Reds in Auckland.
