Hot and Not looks at New Zealand, England, France and all things good and bad from the past week in rugby, plus we have Five takeaways from Round Three of the Autumn Nations Cup.

Speaking of that tournament, we have picked our Team of the Week that includes seven Englishmen and five Frenchmen with Wales, Ireland and Georgia providing one representative each.

There’s also a piece about the upcoming Autumn Nations Cup final which is set to be an anti climax as France will be forced to take to the field without the bulk of their first-choice players.

What’s in the news

Wales centre Nick Tompkins said he has empathy with rugby fans’ frustrations over the lack of attacking play in the game and believes the post-lockdown emphasis on making the breakdown more of a contest for possession has led to most teams using a more conservative approach in the game.

New Zealand have credited scrum-half TJ Perenara with coming up with the idea of presenting an All Blacks shirt with the name Maradona on the back to the Argentina side ahead of Saturday’s Tri Nations Test in Newcastle.
